Spring Update

I hope you all have been enjoying the spring season! It has been beautiful here in Alaska and we are anticipating the warm weather that summer will bring. We have been trying to make as many Alaskan memories as we can before we move in the fall. So far we have been able to enjoy some BBQ's with our friends and Krista's family, make a trip to Denali National Park, go fishing and relax by the river .  Forrest's brother, Frazier, and best friend, Ethan, will be coming to visit in June. Forrest has been starting to plan their Alaskan adventure and can barely wait for June!

The Baby is in good health and growing fast. The doctor said the Baby is about 1 week ahead of schedule, so we are now expecting the Baby to come around the last few days in July or the 1st of August. The Baby likes to move around and kick a lot, mainly around lunch and dinner time. Krista's belly is getting bigger as the days go on and she is looking forward to relaxing for the summer. She has been enjoying teaching for the school year but is looking forward to May 14th, as that is her last day of work.

Forrest has applied to change his MOS to Special Operations in the field of EOD (Explosive Ordinance Disposal). He passed his test with flying colors and made a strong impression during his interview. Now we are waiting for his paper work to go through and waiting to see whether he gets selected. If Forrest gets selected then we will be moving in September to Eglin Airforce Base in Florida for 10 months of training. If it all works out as planned then we will be living on the beach and be close by his family in no time! We are praying hard and trusting in God during this time of waiting.

First Baby News :)

We found out that we were going to be having a baby at the beginning of December 2009. We were so excited and couldn't wait to tell our family the good news. We decided to wait to tell our families till the next week, after our first doctor's appointment. Our first appointment went well, with information about when our due date was going to be and a good review on Krista's blood work. The baby's due date is August 6th, 2010! What a beautiful day to have a baby :)!!

The timing of the birth couldn't have been more perfect. We were debating to either start a family this year or next year and decided on this year because it would be the last year we would be living in the same town with Krista's family. We don't know where the Army will have us in the future so we figured this was a good opportunity to have Krista's family present for the entire pregnancy and birth.

Our summer will fly by with 4th of July, Krista's birthday, packing for the move and having Forrest's mom come early. We are hoping that the baby is right on time. We will be moving around the 1st of September and it would be nice to settle into parenthood for a few weeks before the move. Overall we are overjoyed that we will be having a new addition to our family soon and can't wait for August!
